A few minutes ago I pulled my keys out of my pocket and my Wee dropped to the floor (don't go there). Turns out the BT Lanyard cable loop broke in half. Lummi has the BT Lanyard on their web page for ~$4.50USD, but international shipping is ~$9USD. I know this isn't uncommon for small single item purchases, but I hate paying twice as much in shipping as the item costs. So are there any stateside sources for the BT Lanyard?

In true CPF fashion, if I gotta spend almost $15 just for the lanyard, I could always go ahead and spend $60 on the WEEkend special and get a Wee for the wife.

The closest I've found are the "Cell Phone Charm Split Ring Straps" (search the 'bay) and such, but they are not fully satisfactory.

The wire, however, appears to be fishing wire leader line.

txmatt,

Sorry to hear about the broken BT lanyard attachment. Normally they should handle up to 40-50 lb unless damaged by something sharp. This 49 strand wire is much more bendable and supple compared to fishing leader wire and can be knotted.
Being the maker of the BT's, I am happy to send you a few new ones for free if you PM your address to me.

Regards,
Jan

That is a deal.

Leader line wire comes in 7 strand by 7 strand, in addition to cable for jewelry. Both are pretty flexible.

The issue I've had is the findings (ends).

1M1,
Maybe you got the BT lanyard attachment from the first batch. The connector on the later is slightly larger and thicker and definitely more durable.

I had the same thing happen to me last week except it broke while it was in my pocket. But it still scared me when I pulled my keys out of my pocket and my Wee was no longer attatched. Makes me afraid to ever trust that little piece of cable again. It broke after only two months of pocket carry. Not very reliable if you ask me.
