Anyone ever mod a Regal EDC?

I just received a seconhand Regal EDC and I really like it... except for the user interface. It is unpredictable and confusing. I was wondering if anyone has ever swapped the driver on one of these to something more useful.

Looking at the pill, it appears that it would be easy to swap out the driver with something more user friendly. Find something that is a similar diameter, and do the swap, watching for the correct polarity to the LED.

It measures 16mm in diameter. Can't find any good drivers that size from DX. Any suggestions?

I managed to bypass the silly UI and made it single mode by jumping the microcontroller at pins 2 and 5. Does anyone even still have this light?
