Apex mod clarification

Just need to make sure I have everything clear before I start writing up my parts and order list.

I want the max throw with very little flood.

Is the seould p4 still the best option?

An aspherical lens combined with a reflector seems to be the best combo, is that possible with the Apex?

anything else I need to make it better?

Is the Apex the best mod for this headlight application? would the brunton 3 watt headlamp be better to mod?

all comments are appreciated, even if you're just telling me I'm an idiot for not understanding all the other apex mod threads!

I modded my Apex with a Seoul P4 and a cut-down Khatod 20mm smooth reflector. Had I been going for pure throw, I'd have kept the stock optic and saved a lot of work. That seems to be the consensus here among Apex throw seekers. Naturally, we'd love to hear if you choose to try something else.

Can't help on the Brunton, but the Apex P4 mod works beautifully. Just watch the emitter isolation and heat sinking, and don't crack the case by over-tightening those 3 self-tapping screws. Otherwise, as mods go, this one is pretty simple.
