It is remarkable how rapidly the technology behind these lights advances. Many lights that I loved are now collecting dust or have been sold off in the marketplace as they have become dated. However, I must say that one of my oldest lights is still one of my favorites.....my Arc 4+

In my opinion, the Arc 4+ has really stood the test of time. It still looks great, is a joy to hold and produces a respectable beam.

Is anyone else out there still using their Arcs?

Yes! The latest and greatest changes -- and don't get me wrong, I love the latest and greatest -- but I never tire of my Arc 4+.

I have No. 823 and use it every night. The low beam is very low, which is great for indoor night vision. Wonderful light, even after all these years.

I've never owned one, but I've always admired it's form from afar. I keep my lookout for one to come up for sale on CMFP but I've never seen one listed !!! Beautiful light !!! How the mighty have fallen.........:sigh:

Here's mine, still in excellent condition except for a crack in the rubber switch boot. To those few remaining Arc4+ aficionados out there, any advice on replacing the boot or otherwise improving the switch?

I love the design of this light, even thought it's an oldie, it still looks like it was just released.

I've been trying to find one forever so I can mod it and update the emitter.

Pyros, I think I read somewhere an old surefire e2e boot will fit...

Ah I also love the appearance of the Arc4+. I remember they popped up on ebay for a while after being made but I could never afford them.

It would be cool (but probably some kind of infringement) to see an HDS made tailcap/body that duplicated the appearance and proportions of the Arc 4.

I had one of the unfortunate Arc4+'s with a bad switch. Terribly unreliable and sadly it malfunctioned right about the time the original Arc went the way of the dodo bird so I was out of luck. When it worked it was great and I remain a fan of that UI to this day through all its various iterations.

Hands down, however, the Arc4 had it over the HDS/Novatac and certainly the Ra lights in the looks category. It was and still is a really nice looking light and a great form factor, one of my all time favorites actually. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but Ra seems to be headed in the wrong direction both size wise and appearance wise (still phenomenal lights and since I've owned one or more of all the others in the lineage I'll likely end up with a Ra clickie at some point as well...).

I sure wish the 4+ form would resurface in an updated light with the improved HDS/Novatac/Ra clickie switching system.
