I was messing around a little in the shop today and this was the result:

The TSP-CR2

Has anyone done this before? I've got a bunch of TSP-2AA's here. Would it be worth building a few of these?

Hey, the "Penguin-Light"! Very nice, 'cept could you put a little guard around the Kroll for tailstandin'? If so I'm in!

(Chris please PM or e-me, got a coupla things to talk over with you...)

looks nice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif ... but the gain in size is minimal, so IMHO it is not worth the loss in capacity. But that's strictly IMO.

I think that's a cool invention, but I agree with Bernhard, the main reason I've been considering making a CR2 clickie is to make the arc ls smaller. Can it be made any shorter without too much hassle?

Uh oh.... Am I in trouble? I think I'm outta your jurisdiction.

Here's a side-by-side with a regular TSP-123

A couple of you have inquired about a 1xAA version. Give me a few days and I'll get one built. My spare time lately is divided between flashlights and finishing a bathroom in the basement. Gotta play with my new ball-end mills I got too (those things are cool).

I would like one if you do a run of them.

Very nice!

Have you considered to make a CR2 Twisty? Maybe you could add a tripod thread (since there is more material available with the smaller diameter CR2)?

An AA body sounds also good, but I would prefer a Pila 150s body.

For those who have been waiting for the 1xAA, bear with me. I've been try to get some tim ein the shop to work on these, but a bathroom remodel has been keeping me too busy lately. I HAVE been working on some tooling that will make the process easier for me though.

I didn't think that the Arc lights could run on 1AA?

Neat CR2 pack, by the way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

ARC LS runs fine on single AA, output is dimmer. I've been running 14500 on first runs and LSH both w/AA twisy. li-ion Voltage is higher than 1watt vf, kicks into direct drive.

danger is lux overheating, so far no problems driving hard with 14500. circuits on first run is rated to 2A.

does get kinda warm, quickly. VERY BRITE!!!

What kind of run time would an Arc LS get with a regular alkaline 1AA?

However, I ran across this
old thread which indicates that the newer LS's won't run on 1AA alkaline. Or at least not for very long.

Comments anyone?

Mike

I tried to make a few AA bodies last night and I'm running into problems getting the Kroll's to make a good contact with the threads after I tap them.

Anyone have any suggestions? This may take a while unless I can figure out how to improve on the current method.

Even though the 5/8"-28 tap is what's accepted and used regularly, it's really not the right size. I had the shop that built all my clickie sleeves single-point the threads because the tap left the Kroll a little too loose.

flashlightlens.com: any chance you'd make a 1xAA for arc4 rev1?

by the way, I just bought your UCL for the ARC4+ and it makes
a WORLD of difference. Thanks for a great product!
