I've heard some history about the LS3s but I can't seem to find any specs on it. What drive level was the LS3? I heard that is was 2.5W so was it driven with a .12 sense resistor for 417ma? What optic did it originally come with? What bin LuxV were used in them?

How about the LS2s? I know they were renamed but is there anything special with them?

Also what light did the 1AA fat twisties original come with?

I can't answer the first or second question, cause I know as much about how an Arc works as a hog does about Easter Sunday.

The 1AA twisty came with my original LS1. I still use it.

Thank you for the reply Doc.

Just to clearify, which twisty came with your LS1? I purchased a First Run package that came with a 2AA twisty & the 1AA slim twisty. I'm trying to figure out what the fat twisty originally came with. :candle:

DZ, the "fatty" 1AA were produced with the original, first run LS. The first run LS was able to run well on the single AA.

drive level for LS3 and LS2 is 350 milliamp

LS2 came with a TSP clicky and were mostly light greyish anodizing.

some LS2 came with a 123 twistie.... LS2 are fairly rare and seldom come up for sale. it was a transition model with sales shifting to LSH and LSL series.

1x AA fattie twistie only come with early series First Runs. 1x AA slim twistie came with later first runs.

amazing how Arc LS first runs with it's 3 twistie packs still holds the throne for most versatile light.

LS series are still easily upgradable to latest emitters. keeping up with the arms race for lumens. if that's what one is in to...

cy's right, I'd forgotten about the fat twisty being really early in the run. The LS1 is great for sucking the last drop of power out of otherwise unusable cells. It's still one of my favorite lights, just for that reason.

The 1AA pack won't fire my LSL-P and with brighter lights around now I hardly ever use it anymore.
