I just got mine too - wasn't expecting to see it until Monday or Tuesday. I'll start writing a web page for it right away, and have something up (at least preliminary) later today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh, the envelope says "Deliver by Tuesday 04NOV03", so I guess I'd better praise Federal Express too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

arent they cool. I was going to give it my daughter, but now I don't know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Just kidding. I wiah I could get one of those difussers. Oh well. My daughter is going to love it. Now she gets to enjoy one of hobbies with me. All right guys, have a great weekend. be safe with the kiddies and watchout for them too. Cya on Monday.

Just received mine today. One of them has been cycling thru its pattern in a bathtub full of water for an hour. Some of you may recall, that one of my favorite things to do is take the ARC-AAA turquoise and put in into the whirlpool tub when the Mrs and I escape to one of those couples resorts. This RBG ARC is going to be awesome for that purpose. I didn't think I'd have a use for this, however I was wrong.

The good news: My Arc RGB arrived on my front porch this afternoon, less than 48 hrs. after I ordered it.

The bad news: I inserted the battery, twisted the head, and sat back to enjoy the show. All I got was a very feeble blinking from the red die only. I switched bodies and batteries with other working Arc AAA's that I own. No improvement. The problem seems to be in the head. Bummer.

Or maybe I was extremely lucky to receive the extremely rare, extra dim Arc-R, without the green or blue!!!

Anyone else have problems with theirs??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Darkaway,

I had the same issue... I replaced the battery with another AAA and it worked fine.

I also attached a capilary light rod (that I got with an Eddie Bauer, LED-Lenser light) using some clear plastic tubing to couple the rod to the head of the RGB.

This makes for a very colorful little light sabre. I've also attached the rod to an Arc AAA and it makes for a nice white tent light.

Perhaps I'll get around to making some photos this weekend.

Darkaway,

I just put the battery that shipped with the RGB back into the unit, and now it's working fine. So, I too don't know what the single dim red led phenomenon was, but it's gone now.

Conversation Tonight:
Wife: FedEx left a door tag. What kind of package were you expecting?
Me: A small one.
Wife: From who?
Me: Peter

I go to FedEx and back

Me: Here ya go.
Wife: What is this?
Me: An ARC
Wife: You already gave me one of these. It is on my keychain *grumble grumble* Why did you go and buy another one?
Me: This one is special.
(package gets ripped open)
Wife: Which way do I open this light up? The tail?
Me: No-the head (rolling my eyes).
(plop goes the battery)
Wife: What the h...?
Me: I told you it was special.
Wife: Wow!! This is cool.
Me: Yeah remember McGizmo's mod RGB light up at Sequoia Blah Blah....?
Wife: Oh Yeah. (plays with new ARC RGB for a full four cycles) Please put this on my keychain! Thanks. Cool.
Me: Ok

Us: Thanks Peter

Practical? What, you question it's usefulness?

Nascar already came up with one use...(and I plan on trying that out!)...however, I was thinking it would be a great signal/marker light.

Clip it on the visor of the car if parked along the highway so others will see your vehicle, clip it on the brim of a ballcap so hunters can see you in the woods...what else, I'm sure there's groups of practical uses.

The cycling colors should be a real attention getter! I think this was a great little torch for Peter to test out! Thanks!

Formidable, I received this morning my 2 ARC AAA RGB.
Since, I do not stop contemplating this electronic fireworks. It is necessary besides that I stop, because I will have to buy much batteries.

Please Peter, continue to astonish us with flashlights increasingly more original and beautiful.

I put the diffuser on mine and hung it in the window over my door on Halloween. It got many "that's cool!" compliments. Was a real attention getter! Neat little toy... I'll have to try the hot-tub trick some time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

What did you use as a diffuser?

Chad

The diffuser is the head of of a Garrity funstick available at wally world and some walgreens. Look for the white ones and using strap wrenches remove the diffuser from the plastic led LA it will slide right down on the head and you twist the diffuser to turn it on.

It has arrived at Tokyo,today.
How Cool and funny!

I guess American members used it for Halloween or will use for kinda home party.

However, I found out the BEST place we should use it in Japan.

KARAOKE house is it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

I wonder why Peter did not introduce this first to Japan /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will bring it to some year-end parties on next month
