We had a rehersal last night.... more like, Kenshiro needed access to the sleeper.... he needed to confirm that the "sleeper killer" would beat the sleeper... can we say, homicide, first degree ?

I thought 10,0000 lumens was nuts,, 16k 20k and now 30k (Ken5, Ken6 and Ken 7)....

Stayed tuned......

Did you mean 10,000 lumens was nuts? You scared me for a minute.

Anyway, 30,000 lumen Ken7 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/faint.gif

I think The Sleeper is going to have to get /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drunk.gif, so when it gets its /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/whoopin.gif, it wont be as bad.

30,000 lumens!!!......(I go off mumbling blameing Kenshiro for driving me insane with anticipation...)

Humm, I see all the photos from the first super light shootout on Kenshior's home page have been removed. I can only think something bigger and better is on the way and the suspense is deliciously evil /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif talk of Ken5, Ken 6, Ken7 lights and the 175 short arc Mega Ray.....The mind boggles /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Just got back from Super Light Shoot-Out 2 and the Ken 4 and 5 are the most ridiculous lights I've ever seen. I'll post a little some thing ASAP. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Still waiting... Did you guys ever get a HID thor? I'd like to see what it does against the Thor boost mod...

I expect the Thor boost to stomp the snot out of a 35 watt Thor Hid.
Hid is all about run time.

thor boost will have a new challenger soon

50 watt 5300 lumen(at the bulb) dl50 hid thor.

boosted thor may still be a bit brighter

especially at 3x

untill some one figures out how to overdrive the dl50 bulb
to 75 watts or so.
still I will settle for runtime - color temp - bulb life and lumen maintainence of hid.

not built yet

need another thor from costco

A stock thor only has around 2400 bulb lumens(bulb is under driven)

so a boosted 2x thor would have 4800 lumens

so a dl50 50 watt hid thor would have over 10% more light at the bulb.

boosted 3x still wins. - for now.

Ultimately, the Newbie will be a brighter and won't degrade over time (since it's voltage regulated). But on the other hand a 50 watt HID mod is also a lot of light, hmm, need pics,...

all incandescent and hid bulbs suffer from lumen degradation
regardless of if they are regulated or not.

the reduction of lumens has nothing to do with a change in the power supply feeding the bulb.

simply put the bulb (incandescent or otherwise) gets less efficient over time.(unless there is a photo thransistor and a control circuit monitoring the light output and regulating it.
