After searching and searching, I really hate to ask what sounds to me like such a noob question, but here goes:

What are the best batteries to use for a 3D maglite? I've got a Malkoff 2-3 cell drop in installed. I've put Energizer E2 Lithiums in all my AA lights that are not EDC, but couldn't figure out what to use for my 3D mag that sit here and there. Seems that alkalines are much maligned for leaking and self-discharge. Best I can come up with is some LSD D-cells a-la Accupower Evolution. Is this the best choice for a seldom use 3D mag?

Thanks!

LSD D-cells would be my choice (given a low-voltage setup), but if you really wanted the 10-year shelf life of Lithiums, you could get some 2x or 3xAA to D adapters and load it up with E2s.
