It depends.
If you're in the military and you need a very bright light for your weapons system, the Night Reaper would be perfect.
If you just want to illuminate very distant objects, then the Maxabeam is better suited.

Each are impressive in their own way but generally speaking the NR is more striking to the eye because of the sheer amount of light coming from it. The MB is "niffy" because of it's 1 degree beam angle but of course the lumen output isn't very high, around 1400L.
