well I just joined the candle Power forums, I came accross it looks for reviews of the duracell daylite flash light thinking it was so awesome only to discover that there are tons of super bright flash lights for cheaper at deal extreme and KD prompting me to order a flash light from them, I just got my flash light it and i am very please with it and it's birghtness, 230 lumens, compared to a coleman 115 lumen light i got at walmart.

Well I am so pleased with the light i got that i would like to purchase a Light for a keychain, something within the length range of a typical key, maybe an inch longer but can still output roughly 100-200 lumens would be ideal, as i would like to have something for the car but also just with me most of the time.

Any know of any good lights within 10-40$ range that are decent quality?

Also i discovered how dangerous these lights can be up close, they can defently be used to disarm someone coming at you at night, I think i will bring my new torch with me to a race car track I am part of the pit crew. A lot of times races are pretty heated and someone someone wrecks another guy... well people get pissed... so this would be a great deterent esspecialy since races start when it gets dark out.

Not best but I use Fenix LD01 with AAA batteries.

The Fenix LOD/ LD01 are both very popular.
The liteflux's are also very popular but are more in the 50 dollar range. You might want to consider a leatherman serac as well, those get good reviews as well. I personally have a fenix lod and a fenix e01 and love them both.

1.Fenix P1D cr123
2.Fenix LOD or LD01 aaa
3.Nitecore EZAA aa
4.Liteflux LF2XT aaa

these are a few good choices but depends on what battery you like and if you have a bulky keychain already the size of some may be to much to add so aaa would be best

i have a bulky set of keys so i went with LOD

I just checked out the 4 you listed on deal extreme, most were sitting in the 50+ range which i'm not looking to spend, ideal would be 15-20ish 40 being the absolute highest.

I know I am cheap ha.

I only have 2 keys for my keychain which is for my vehicle, and house.

The Tank 007 might be a good choice for you then, or the fenix e01.

Did you install a magnetic disc on the tail? I just installed a 3/4 magnetic disc on my H501. I like the added versatility so much that I plan on getting twisty lights so I can do the same on all of them.

Honestly, in my opinion, the most complete AAA light one can find is what Lightflux Offers, either the LF2X or the LF2XT.....

go to the market place and look there, I have an LF2X for sale, and look in the dealer forum for the LF2XT

LD01 is the best keychain light I've ever owned. Just wish it cycled low-med-high instead of med-low-high

Great post! I have dedicated ALOT of time and $$$ in the quest for the ultimate keychain EDC. I EDC'd a P1D for a couple years. I could start a separate thread on the importance of keychain EDC carry. (Life has an interesting way of presenting challenging and ironic situations)

I am waiting on my Nitecore EZ AA warm white:party:
I would also add the Raw Ns:devil: I just upgraded to a neutral warm white and

On my keys
I EDC a Raw/ lummi Al Ns with a GREEN LED.

and a Fenix E01
and an ARC AAA- UV
and a few coin cell LEDs from L-Hound or BattJunction

Nice thread.

This is my area of interest and I've been lucky to be involved with a number of amazing threads in this vein.

The short of it is that I agree very much with what has been said so far.

Personally, I neck carry a TiFli (see here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=231369)

and EDC the Modamag Drake on my keychain.

I also adore (and rotate between) the Lummi Wee and the Fenix LD01 SS on my keychain. I love the NiteCore EZAA but I find that it just a hair too big for comfortable keychain carry for me, but it's a fantastic shirt-pocket light.

I have had a FENIX P1d on my keys sense they came out. This my friend is a real light not just a back up in case you need it.It is bright as heck multi levels and pretty good throw.Plus if your EDC is a single 123 it's a perfect way to carry a spare cell.

I have the RAW al and that thing is bright... like a thumb size Fenix P2DQ5
