boring a 6p

I do run them in some of my original surefires but wanted to trick this one out with a triple Nichia 219 and mcclicky tail cap. I am also in the States.

Are there any good 16650 available now? The Sanyos are discontinued and the Keeppowers are almost $20 each.

Vinh still offers boring services, skylumens is his store.
He also makes some pretty sweet dropins

I have a bored out 6P that I wouldn't mind trading for an unmodified 6P. Would you interested in a trade?

I have the proper tooling for boring, did three heavily-used Elzetta Bravos just the other day. I use adjustable reamers to keep it centred, and then polish with sandpaper for a nice finish. These went out to 18.70mm for a snug fit on Panasonic 3500mAh wrapped cells.

Not hard to do it yourself, get yourself 3/4 flex hone, put it in a drill, and carefully , at low speed bore the tube out. it will take time, flex hones do not remove a lot of metal with 1 pass, do not go fast or you'll clog the hone. I did it with aluminum tubes for something other than flashlights, so i know it works. the only difference is, lights may have anodizing on the inside of the tube, so it will take a bit longer to file off the hard anodized layer, once it is gone, things will go faster

Not entirely certain, but I believe KTFlights bores with a lathe. YMMV.
Very logical, he owns a lathe so he uses it to bores out tubes, those that do not have lathes, use other means that also work.

I did my 6P with a piece of 1/2" aluminum rod chucked in a drill and a lot of sandpaper and duct tape. It made a mess, but to me it's worth it to be able to tap into the plethora of 18650's out there.

I bore mine with a round file, then I made a nozzle on a drill from sandpaper to smooth the surface a little. Works well, but you have to constantly check inserting and removing the 18650 to check if you removed too much metal, also the hole is not quite round
