I will say I washed it off (before I tested it, stupid me), but that's hardly unusual treatment 'round these parts. What does this mean, most likely? Is it just that water leaked in between the LEDs, or is one of the LEDs defective?

It's also worth noting that the head seems to heat up pretty quickly considering they're "just" 5mm LEDs, but then I've never had a brass light before, so I dunno, maybe they conduct heat faster.

EDIT: No, you know what, something's definitely wrong beyond just the LED. It's getting as hot as I'd expect from a light running a Cree XR-E. By comparison, my aluminum McKinley is still cool to the touch after several minutes.

I bought and returned 3 of the newest generation Inova X5 flashlights (each contains five 5mm LEDs) because one or more LEDs began blinking shortly after purchase.

Contact Peak for a return authorization.

You might want to try this trick- it worked on my cell phone. Remove the battery and place some uncooked white rice in one of those glad tupperware thingies- place light into the rice-replace cover. wait a day or 2. The rice acts as a dessicant should absorb any moisture present.
:wave:Worth a try.

I usually just set my wet lights on top of a halogen desk lamp to dry them out. But hey, I'll give this a shot.

Well, this issue took a left turn. I called Peak today and Curt offered to send me a brass Logan in exchange for my malfunctioning McKinley, and went on to say they're trying to get away from multi-LED designs as quickly as they can, and permanently. It looks like the bugeye design is going to fade into history. :(
