I think the brass Peaks look better when you carry them. They take on a nice patina that will stabilize over time and look beautiful. The brass does get light scratching when carried on a keychain, but again, they add character and do not detract from the beauty of the light. Go ahead and carry that puppy!

Main reason not to carry it is it weighs a ton, I think. I have a 1led proto that I can't bring myself to carry, and a stainless steel one with the same issue. They sure are nice to look at though.

Couldn't agree more. I love the brass lights, and feel they only improve with carry. The great thing is that unlike a black HA coating that gets very obviously scratched to reveal a different under color, brass just reveals brass. They are heavy, but in the Shasta (N Cell) size, it just gives them a pleasant feel for the small size.
Carry away, I say!

I carried mine every day until I lost it. Always looked fine to me. A very sturdy light, the extra weight did not bother me. Hope it turns up again someday.

Have the brass Matterhorn 3-LED on the ring most of the time except when
I choose to attach a kubotan. Then I carry the light apart from the ring. But
just wanted to say, the light wears well and in no way does it harm the light
to use it as a key ring fob. Beside this, it is a fob with a purpose.

I used to carry a Streamlight "BatonLight" so I could have both a kubotan & light on the key ring. I lost it a while ago and have wondered sometimes if the Peak Fujiyama would make an acceptable substitute.

I've been carrying the Matterhorn3 on my keyring ever since my OP, and it's worked well, the weight to me is a non-issue, it works well in combination with my Arc AAA-P on the neck lanyard
comparing the two, the Peak seems to have a throwier and whiter beam, hotspot brightness seems roughly equivalent, and the Arc has a nice, wide flood, for general use, the Arc fits my needs better, the Peak is better for pointing things out, like inside a PowerMac case
both good lights, they compliment each other well, and they've allowed me to drop my Inova X5 from my back pocket, thus lightening my EDC load (Peak Matterhorn, Arc AAA-P, SF A2 Aviator, SF E1L-SR)
