Hope sumone can answer my question.

I have a 100w halogen bulb and a 55w HID bulb with a 55W 6000kelvin ballast.

I played around with them last night and they looked almost the same brightness.

Am i wrong or right in saying that?

The HID looked a tiny bit brighter.

What HID kit? from where?

My cheapo 55w automotive 6000K HID Bulb out performs even a 130w Halogen no probs. Reflector or bulb alone. But 6000k isn't the best, should try 4300K, such a big diff.

Depending on the battery being use, I'll assume a 12V 7A SLA in this case, the 55W HID bulb will be roughly twice as bright and throw father.

I suspect that the "55W" ballast really isn't running at 55W but if you're getting 40-45W that's still going to be a lot brighter than the 100W incan.

Figure about 2200 lumens for the incan and about 4000+ for the HID, with more throw. You'll probably have to do some semi-formal testing in order to notice the differences if you're not used to picking them out with the naked eye.

very interesting thanx guys.
So how will i test this using my fluke?
Thanx for the info.
