I modded my Lux Dorcy with a SSC, and now I'm hooked. I have a poly Brinkmann 3AAA 1 watt that I'd like to upgrade. It's probably a couple years old (purchased at Target) and has a nasty yellow tint at the hot spot.
I popped it open, and I see the familiar star board, and it's apparently a SSC (marked Seoul Zled), but how do I know which SSC model is in this? Based on the age it's not one of their recent chips, but curious how to ID an emitter.
Secondly, with the resistor in place, will I get any increased output by jumping up to a U-bin SSC? Physically, this looks like it's going to be another easy mod, just wanted an education on the finer points
take care,
Tec
