I am going to order a Brinkmann 5-3-2 D from their website and am hoping they will sell me an extra 3-cell extension as well. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a CPF discount code for Brinkmann and also wanted to know if there are reflectors available for this light so I can covert it to an ROP from time to time as well. I am really exited about this light, really like the idea being able to change the amount of cells I can run in it. Can someone recomend some good quality D-aa adapters so I can use Nimh in it, Thanks!

Before I ordered the 5-3-2 tonight I went to DX and saw the WF-500 and now I am thinking of buying this set up instead but I have some questions first. I have never owned rechargable Lithium Ions before and am a little worried abou them. I know there are post everyday from newbies asking about rechargable lion batteries but I can never seem to comprehend the answers given. So my questions are:
1. What is the difference between 18650 and 18500?

2. Will 18650 fit in any light that uses 2 123s? I have a SF g2 aand Brinkmann Legend LX

3.If I buy rechargable LIONs I will buy AW cells, but what chrger do I buy?

4. I will eventually want a SF G3 type of light as well and was wondering what type of rechargable LION fits in 3 123 lights?

I am STARVING for a new high lumen Incan and do not want to build an ROP so any other advice for an affordable set up would be great.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

1 - Length. An 18650 = 2xCR123 cells side by side. 18500 = length of one and a half CR123 cells side by side. Two 18500 = 3xCR123 cells.

2 - No. A light that takes 2xCR123 cells will accomidate one 17670 cell. If you want to use an 18650 cell, the 2xCR123 light has to be bored out to accomidate it. Your stock G2 will easily take a 17670. But an 18650 will not fit.

3 - Best charger, without a doubt, PILA IBC model. Lighthound.com has started selling it. One of the best online shops out there. The charger isn't cheap, but it is the best. And no, there is no nearly as good version for a dirt cheap price. There are lower priced chargers that demand constant attention while charging cells. I have an Ultrafire WF-139 charger. It's as basic as it gets. Gets the job done, but requires keeping a constant eye on it. Avoid the Trustfire version of this charger. Looks just like the Ultrafire, but is extremely dangerous to use; even if you keep an eye on it.

4 - As mentioned above 3xCR123 lights will accomidate 2x18500. But once again, only if bored. Stock bodies will work with a pair of 17500 cells.

To be honest, I'm not too heavy into rechargeables in my inca. lights. Others are more knowledgeable. Let's just say it's extremely important to learn everything about such cells before you begin using them in your lights.

Hope this helped.
