Hi there, I am new to the Candlepower Forum and looking for some help in finding a place in the USA that sells the Big Bang System? If anyone has any ideas, please help. I GOT to have one of htose awesome looking Lights..

Sorry, I can't tell if your interest is in the light is genuine or professional. Still,:welcome: Where did you happen to learn about the light yourself? any more info to share? Nice with the roadway or off-road beam shape, that is a feature I hope spreads.

While a HID could be reason in itself for the purchase, if you do happen to be looking for a light, have a look around.

BUT
there is a reason not a single bike light producer still promotes its HIDs (in the 10 W range):
they were crap when they were space-age technology - some 2-3 years ago - and now are even more crap.

With the quad-led getting used by manufacturers in raising numbers, there is nothing a HID bike light can do better.
And both consume about the same power.

There is only one thing a HID is freaky --> statup show.
and the BigBang is allowed to be used as official street-allowed bike illumination, of course.
(with all the cons, that pro is a very specific point, but if someone cares ...)


PS: Lupine Tesla, or the Tesla clone at DX, both are much better than any 10 W HID bike light ever produced

Yellow, the lack of cutoff really is a pita for road riding as each car highbeams you back. Doesn't matter how bright your lights are, when you have 200W in your face you can't see much. You also risk getting a bottle in your face from a rightly pissed off cager.
This is especially true for a MCE/P7 based light with a wide round beam. You can get away with a narrow beam if its tight (8deg) and doesn't spill too much into the other lane, but its best to have a cut off.

This was pretty exciting stuff back in 2006, probably not a good buy in 2009.
But where are the 900lm bike lights with cut off?

Here it is : 'only' 10 watts, average bulb life 1000 hours, 150 euros for service and replacement of bulb.

I calculate 32w of led power for the low beam, 57.6w for the high beam. Quite a bit more interesting than the lupine Tesla.

Update.. I been stewing and lusting over one of these HID Bicycle Lights about 2 years now.. Well this am i just ordered me one and it wil lbe here in the am from Peter White..Cant wait..Anyone else in the mean time snagged one of these? Jerry
