Finished up my KAI C2 modification.

Removed the White Cree, added the UV 2.5 watt and trimmed the reflector to fit the square profile of the Cree UV led.

The UV beam was well focused by the reflector and had no trouble lighting up a fluoroescent target at 75 feet in a dimly lit dark office hallway.

From Cree directly.

I have plenty of 1 Watt and 2.5 Watt UV Cree emitters if anybody wants to play with a few.

I may be interested in some UV Crees. How much are you looking to sell them for? Is the slug negative or positive? Any pics of the LEDs themselves to give an idea of soldering and what not?

jsr;

The configuration is the same as the Cree XRE. Center pad is isolated.
+ & - pads on the sides. One soldered to copper penny:

The only difference is the rim around the lens is square instead of round.

Rated current is 700 ma. Wavelength is 395 nm.

Thermal resistance is 8' C/W.

1 Watt are $9.95 ea.

3 Watt are $11.95 ea.

Shipping $3. Email if you want some.

Wow!

These would be great for a UV light with some serious throw!

Beamshots please!

if someone will craft me a LE for my A19 head, I am willing to make it worth their time!

PM please!

I have an el cheapo taskforce 1 AAA 1 watt luxeon (at least, thats what the Lowes website says). Round emitter, on looks like round black plastic, soldered to a PCB. The PCB has 2 wires coming up from the driver circuit that is in a thin/cheap/light aluminum cylinder (possibly a heatsink, but I don't see a connection between the LED and the aluminum)

Could I take a 1w cree uv and just swap out the emitter? I haven't done any soldering in 10 years (unless you count copper pipes...), but I think I could manage it. I think that would make a great little toy for halloween...

The only other thing is that the taskforce uses a plastic optic rather than a reflector, and most plastics A) absorb UV and B) are destroyed by it.

I'll just have to see.

Do you have any more of the 1 watt UVs?
