I've read a few threads and haven't been able to find answer to my questions

How long does it take to get a read back of a cell's capacity? Say of a 2500mah AA? The way the manual describes, to get a read back of the cell's capacity you need to enter the 'refresh and analyze'.. which seems pretty long and drawn out... unless im misreading it. :)

Is the C9000 any good at detecting cells that have been laying around for a long while untouched? Say more than 6months?

Thanks for the help

To get a read out of capacity, you can discharge the cell. Then charge it after is has rested for awhile. The length of time to get a readout depends on what you set the discharge rate at. The norm as I understand it is 400ma.

The rest of your questions were answered in another thread you posted in.

Hiya Gazoo thanks for that, thats good to know as the manual seemed it to be a longer drawn out issue to get the capacity. im really tempted by this charger! lol i can't really afford it but ah well!

Yeah  i saw my other question got answered after I posted this thread.

Thank you for your help Gazoo

Hi Trancersteve,
I really wasn't able to afford it either...lol. But I am very happy with it. The manual over complicates things IMO. If you get it and start playing with it,
I know you will find it as easy to use as I did. The display pretty much walks you through everything after you insert a battery. Neat..:) The manual does have some good pointers for charge settings, and if you aren't sure you can of course always ask here. Thanks to this forum, I have learned so much.

Hello Gazoo and Trancersteve.

Standard capacity testing done by the manufacturer consists of a 5 hour discharge, or a 0.2C discharge rate.

Hiya Anders, Ahh i see thats not too bad to wait. Does the display cycle through time/voltage/current when the unit is operating?

I actually own a LaCrosse BC900 but am abit fed up it. The buttons on it are poor and though they do click when pressed, mostly the unit doesn't respond! The UI is lame also, have to go thru all this song and dance just to set the current especially if adding another battery to one of the bays. My dad was gonna fit some LEDs to it to make it backlit, guess that saves him doing that aswell

lol tryin to justify in my mind to get a C9000, i should be saving for my holiday! :sssh:

Yes. And you can manually cycle through the different slots by pressing a button. There are no button press issues with the C9000. The display is very easy to read, nice and big and of course lit.

Thanks for the welcome and for that link, was very helpful Anders. Thanks aswell Gazoo

I'm liking this charger loads im gonna place the order tonight :)
