Was wondering witch one i should buy they both put out quit a bit.The one from cabelas is huge but the n30 is kind of ugly but i here its great.bring on the feedback.

Want to be a little more specific? They have like 4 listed there from xenides to Streamlight and Vector as well. Of all those lights, the amondotech N30 will still be smaller and lighter.

I was talking about the vector 3500 lumens.I think i am going for the amondetch n30 i like its small size heavy output and light wieght. But i have also heard it makes a high pitch sound ?:thumbsup:witch could be kinda cool if not to loud.

I've only heard mine make a very slight hi pitched sound when starting up since its running at a higher current at that point but it settles right down. The vector can be had, on ebay for much less btw and has a 6000k lamp versus 4200K for the amondotech. Either way, they are good deals.

husky20,

The Amondotech N30 is more versatile and the Amondotech Illuminator is better then the Cabelas. Same light, but the Illuminator has a 4200K bulb.

Cabelas's light is not 3500 lumens. The bulbs are officially rated at 3200 lumens + or - 200 lumens.

Cool thanks for the info amondotech it is! Im just scared there getting ready to improve it right after i buy it you know?:mecry:

The N30 will have essentially the same light output as the L35. The L35 will have other improvements. So far my N30's have been handling rain fairly well with tape over the charging port.

I know the L35 is being worked on because I have been working on it with Matt. But you must realize is will be more expensive too. I do not know what the final price will be but, Wayne's target price was in the $245 to $325 range over a year ago. See link below for L35 info-

That was Wayne's target price, Matt will need to see what the lights will cost with today's material costs, shipping costs, and currency exchange rates. All three factors have gone in the wrong direction for the low end of Wayne's target price. Matt is a great person to work with and while I would NEVER presume to guess the price, I do know Matt well enough to know it will be reasonable, whatever it is, once he knows all of the costs.
I personally think Matt will have to pull the proverbial "Rabbit out of a Hat" trick to be anywhere near the lower end of Wayne's price target. That is just my personal opinion.

You will NOT see a L35 in the next two months and it WILL be significantly more expensive then the N30 so I would not worry about getting the N30 now. This is particularly true if you are on a tight budget.
If you are not on a tight budget you may as well get the N30 now, because as numerous other CPF members will agree, it won't be your last N30 :D or when the L35 comes out you can get it too and you will have two nice little HID's.
The N30 is a wonderful little light at a great price.

I think i will get the n30 i mean i live in palm desert ca! If it rains here i need a camera just to prove it!the weather here is awesome just gets brutally hot in the summer i mean 120 something.Im just wondering about the battery can i charge it and leave it for a few months no problem or what.Is there any kind of recommendations you have for long term care of this light. When i first saw the thing i was like dam that thing is hideous but Ive come to really admire and want it! heck i even like the way it looks now!

As a fellow So Cal resident I know what you mean.

Regarding the battery packs,
I have left them for a couple months with no problem.
I do prefer to top them off every 1 to 2 months.
The N30 uses a smart charger so you could just leave it plugged in when not in use.
For me, that is not practical because of how many HID's I have.

How smart is that smart charger is it safe to leave it plugged in or could it eventually ware out the battery faster?:sssh:I mean i wouldn't be apposed to charging it once a month or so if that would be better than leaving it plugged in?excellent thread on the n30 nice beam shots cant wait to get one are they shipping the old ones out now or do they have new batches?

It goes into trickle charge mode so you can leave it plugged in.
I don't for the reasons stated above and because I want to save on my electric bill everywhere I can :D . I have found I use the lights too much to worry about how long their charges are holding up. Actually, just about everybody in my house will grab one of the N30's when going outside at night.

I have numerous friends with expensive HID's and N30's that will do the same and the general rule of thumb is the N30's provide enough light at near disposable cost compared to other lights in the same size and performance range.
