out of interest- are there any other regulated incans out there other than the A2? i read something the other day that said there was at least one other.gc.

A M6 with a js M6-R pack is regulated. If you can find the Pack that is...

Ask GreenLED. I believe he mentioned once that all lights with a willie hunt module are regulated--and that they're mainly caving lights.

Not my area of "expertise" but have some recollection of hearing that the Tigerlight is regulated. Feel free to correct me on this.

And surefire tried to advertise the A2 as an Aviator light:ohgeez:

I do not know of any besides the A2. That is too bad. I think a brighter regulated (200-300 luman) incan would be hard to keep in stock if it were made.

The Princeton Tec Yukon Extreme has regulated High and Low Incandescent, and regulated High LED. When the light drops out of regulation, it goes to Low LED, which is unregulated.

Yes, I have a regulated TigerLight... but the A2 fits in my pocket easier. :)

But do any of these other regulated incandescents also have the soft start feature?

I think the soft start feature is built into the Willie Hunt driver...and its in Surefire lights only:ohgeez:

The Lighting Pro models: PL90, F1 , CL1 & TL1 all have regulation and soft start features.

The Wille Hunt driver in the A2 is also in the headlamps used by Navy Damage Control, and the Forest Service Firefighters. In addition to the A2 features like a soft start, the headlamps have additional features such as variable brightness, plus they also give warning flashes when the battery gets low.

Vector VEC155S E-Brite Digital Flashlight also found packaged by Husky is regulated at 5.2 V. A member picked up a couple of them for me at Home Depot when they were $10.00. Compare at $80.00? Naw, $30.00.

Stuck an RS XPR103 in it. Much brighter and whiter. The NiCads don't hold a charge. Haven't had the time to replace them with NiMhs. TVMan did and they worked. I think he was going to try enelopes (sp?) in it.

Interesting torch.
