Can it throw ?

The moment an N30 or L35 is turned on, they are as bright as any 100 Watt Halogen light.

+2 to BVH's observation. The 35W class HID's come to life very quickly.

I'm very unimpressed with the specs and build shape of the Nightsearcher to be honest with you. It's fairly expensive and seems very over priced for what you get, considering what's available in the N30, and Acro RL-11 and soon to come L35. Of the these mentioned lights are at least two or three steps up from what you're pondering now.

Just want to see you get the most light for your money...:)

With a 100W Xenon/Halogen bulb running from a 12V 7Ah SLA battery it will only output about 2000 lumens, so it won't throw nearly as far as an HID. I recommend the N30 HID spotlight (which I do own) as it puts out 3200 lumens, runs for over an hour, and would easily out throw the Panther. It is also pretty water resistant. The N30 will also be much smaller and lighter than the Panther.

I don't own one, but with a 100W Xenon bulb and a good quality reflector it should throw at least 1/2 a mile.

I was looking in the specifications for the reflector size and it's not listed. Generally the reflector size will provide the largest variation in throw for these different spot lights. It also stated that it comes with a 50W and a 20W bulb in the specs, but in the description is shows the addition of a 100W bulb. Maybe that's an option though.

Overall it's fairly generic and uses the same technology that's been available for the last 12 years...12V 7amp battery with a 100W automotive bulb. It will certainly outperform any 6V lantern or any D cell flashlight but I wouldn't consider them to provide any extraordinary beam or great run-time, especially with a 100W bulb. How much does this light cost anyway?

What will you be using the light for?

How far would you like, or do you need the light to throw?

Have you considered any HID lights yet? The N30 is impossible to beat at its price point.

P.S. most 100W incan automotive bulbs which are run off of that SLA battery in front of a 7" reflector, will throw well to about 350 yards or about a 1/5 of a mile. The "1 mile beam" description at the top is complete sillyness.

According the the box size, this reflector appears to be in the 100mm to 125mm size range and will throw noticeably less than a 7" reflector.

The new L35 (out in maybe 6 weeks or so) will be pretty much waterproof, when turned on will instantly produce about 2000 Lumens (another 25 to 30 seconds to get up to 3200 Lumens), will sport a Lithium Ion battery (very little self-discharge) and will throw as good as or better than the N30. The moment an N30 or L35 is turned on, they are as bright as any 100 Watt Halogen light.

+1 to that. After only 2 seconds the N30 appears to be just as bright as my 10 million candlepower Thor spotlight which has a 100W Halogen bulb. At full brightness the N30 is twice as bright as the Thor 100W, and out throws the Thor too.

Is there anywhere where i can see some pics of the L35 and other info,
like price ? :twothumbs
