My apologies if this has been asked before and I didn't find it. I would love to see Peak put out a light along the lines of the Nautilus. A very small 1x123 light with just two modes operated by a twisty, a low of maybe 2 lms with a looooong runtime, and a general usage high of 50 or 60 lms. I know we have quark minis but I don't want the extra modes, and I really enjoy the outstanding machining and quality in Peak lights. I'd like to support them more. Just high and low. And as small as possible. Maybe a neutral white XP-G. Anyone else like this idea? Am I way off? :paypal:

Curt prefers mechanical switching, so unless you can develop a 2 mode switch, I would say no.
I would like to see him add a resistor to his momentary switch, between the primary and secondary pistons, making it a progressive 2 mode.

The Logan with a pocket body is about as compact a light as can be made with a CR123-A. It's trim and shorter than an AAA Eiger or an Arc AAA.

However, it is a twisty with a single mode. Posts over the last two days in other threads have discussed a new variable output switch that would allow what you seek... but not in the twisty format you describe. I'm not aware of any such twisty in the works at Peak. As far as the single mode is concerned, you can have a Logan made up in any power level - or for any runtime - you choose. Call Bob at RMSK or Curt at Peak and chat with them about it.

DWF: that Logan is really a gorgeous little light. That's basically exactly the size and shape I want, it's just that it's a single mode. :(

A progressive twisty would be ideal, but if that's too much to ask, I'd be ok with even the traditional twisty with on/off cycle mode switching like we see in other lights. That doesn't seem like too much of a jump from the single mode currently available.

How about carrying two Eigers, one with each light level you want? I carry two, both #8s but one with a narrow beam and one with a medium. It's astonishing how pointy the #8 narrow is...... and how quickly they both get hot with 10440 batteries!

you can make your own- check out MWClint's brilliant Peak mods...the simple resistor CR123 is but one of them....
also- from Blindasabat:
"I highly suggest 0.5W or higher for 10 ohm in high power lights like the Rainier using RCR123. You can still use 1/4 Watt if using 20ohm or higher. I have several very small resistors if people need them. Smaller than you will find at radio shack. I used them for my previous mods mentioned above."

Wow! Thanks rage cage. That looks really interesting. I will have to scour some of those mod threads and see what I can learn. I have basically no molding experience but that doesn't look too tough for a beginner. Thanks for the help.
