Hi,

I just purchased a Fenix TK40 flashlight. The flashlight is absolutely fantastic, but it comes with a poorly-designed and useless shoulder strap.

Can you recommend a rugged and high-quality lanyard for this not too light ( 284g excluding batteries) flashligh? Ideally I would be looking for something I can put around my wrist when needed, and something I could also use to hang the flashlight.

Thanks!

Buy some paracord, and make your own. A bit of imagination goes a LONG way...:)

and you can get the exact type you want.

Im actually selling those, but Ive been too lazy to make them recently..

One small problem: I am rather clumsy with my hands, and I have no idea how to turn some paracord into a good lanyard :-(

My complaint with the paracord lanyards is the necessity to unclip them from a belt to use. But with a pistol lanyard, you can fasten it to your belt and have an extending, durable cord that holds the light securely and never needs to be fiddled with.

The Blackhawk one is simple and cheap. Other makers have quick release mechanisms.

Very nice! How is it attached to the belt? Is that some kind of leather loop, is is it velcro? Could I attach it to my wrist instead of thje belt?

It's velcro. I'm not sure if it is long enough for a wrist.

eta - it's barely long enough for my wrist, but I'm skinny.

4seven's sells a good one (not as obstrusive as the suggestions above but it will definately perform the job), it's the same design as the surefires with two adjustment bobbles. My .02lumens

You don't need get fancy if you don't want / need a fancy lanyard. If all you need is a basic loop lanyard just buy some cord and a cord lock, loop the cord around the light, slip on the cord lock and then tie a knot at the end.

You don't necessarily need to unclip them from a belt, unless they're too short. That's an advantage to creating your own; you can get it to the right length that you want. You can also use bungee cord if you want something that can stretch. So the pistol lanyard is a good option but you can also improvise something yourself if you are feeling a bit adventurous. :)

Well you can also get some cord stoppers, and cord ends and make lanyards surefire style, those work the best.

or go to instructables and search for lanyards
