I'm torn! I am looking at the Surefire E2D and the E2E HA. I just can not decide. If you had to choose only one, which one would you pick?

Welcome to CPF!

I would get the E2e. You can put it in your pocket and not have to worry about tearing up your clothing.

BTW, I've flown plenty of times with my E2D in my carry on and have never been questioned on its design. I work for the CA Courts and getting it through security screening has never been a problem. In fact the Sheriffs I meet our quite impressed that a mere "civilian" would use a Surefire product to conduct Health and Safety inspections.

I was in your position before and ended up buying the E2E. After a bit of time passed, I wished I bought the E2D...I just thought it looked cooler :sssh:

You know what they say around here, "Buy Both!" I've got both. My E2h (hybrid, E2 body with a E2e bezel, looks like a 6P baby) is running the MN02 LA. My E2D has a mini-mag red lens cap.

Strauss you are right about the cool factor.

I would probably go with the e2E myself, it's sleeker, and for some reason some stupid zealous cop would probably consider it a kubaton or something and take it away. Plus I would end up hurting myself with it.

I own both, but from a practical standpoint the E2E is your light. You won't go wrong either way!:naughty:

Hi there Katdaddy, Welcome to CPF,

Emmm, a tough choice to make. Both have its merit. If you are a LEO then, E2D is the choice to go for. Other than that E2e is the way to go.............

Wow, I can't believe it, no one has said it yet. I'm the first to say it, I feel so proud.

*clears throat*

GET BOTH!

:)
Honestly, if I were you, I would get the e2e, much more practical and usefull.

Kelmo beat you to it, Lobo. As for me, I've never owned either light. However, I would definitely buy the E2D over the E2E. It's so much cooler! I'm not really worried about hurting myself (holsters are easy to find), and I would like to have something like that when walking around downtown.

Buy the E2D. It has tailstanding ability and is black HA III.

Bill

Good point about the tailstanding, that used to bother me with my E2E. Although you could just switch out the tailcap to a McClicky if you had your heart set on the E2E

I'd go for the E2E over the E2D. The E2D looks great in photographs, but I think the bezel is too sharp.

Spend some $$$ on a couple self defense classes and you'll likely be miles ahead of someone with an E2D that has never taken a self defense class.

I have had both. If you fly often, I would pick the e2e. If not, the e2d is kind of cool, plus can tailstand.

All this talk of the E2e and I had to order another one. I'm planning on vacationing in Turkey with my wife for 3 weeks in May and I needed a travel light. I've got it bad, now I have a E2e, E2D, E2, and a E2O. I know the E2O and E2e are redundant but the E2e will be my travel beater light.

Now if I can just hide it from my wife...

If you're contemplating on the SF.E2E, there's one NIB for sale in the B/S/T section. Better hurry or it'll be spoken for. . .

Enjoy!

It is hard to suggest what light would suit you more because we dont know what you will be using it for. In my case I choose the E2D because I wanted to have a light that could be used for defense purposes when walking around in the city at night. It also has the ability to tailstand. If you are planning on buying a LED upgrade in the future such as the new KX1, keep in mind that the upgrade will not match the E2D unless they decide to make it in black. I just thought that I got more for the money with the E2D and I liked the look better. I have never had any issues with tearing my clothes when carrying this light around. I usually use the pocket clip and when I don't it still has never been an issue
