Cateye upgrade

Hi, I currently use 2 Cateye EL-520 and 1 Cateye EL-530
on my road bike.All 3 still put out less than 1/2 the light of my friends
single 3w homemade led light.What do I need to upgrade each of
these lights.The shape of light is good as the 530 is wide and short,
while the 2 520 are long and narrow.I just need more light.
I'M IN THE DARK!!!!!!!!
