Charging D size Li-ion battery with 18650 battery charger ?

I am looking into getting D size Li-ion batteries.

Can I use an external battery tray/holder ( http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/488ab44d0014c5c82740c0a87f9c0718/Product/View/S6101 ) and charge the D Li-ion battery with 18650 battery charger that I have? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6105 It has 1A each channel.

I am getting a Pila IBC charger soon and wonder if that can do the same thing too.

Ofcourse you can charge, I am using same method.

There is only one problem, my D size tray is a little short for protected Li-Ion.

D Li-ion longer then normal D cell?

Yes you can, I use the Pila charger myself for all my Li-ion cells, from the AW RCR123 to the Kai D cell. I had to cut down the spring in the D cradles/holders/trays and make a cut in the sides of the units to allow them to open up a little to allow the longer Kai D cells to fit. The main thing is that this set-up works reliably.

A picture of D and C holders with the Pila charger.....The dovels have an OAL the same as an 18650 cell.

A bit off topic : I thought I saw somewhere that the Pila IBC should not be used to charge anything less then 600mAh. The AW RCR123 is less then 600mAh?

I believe that it is 750mAh and it charges and works without a problem.
