There are different types of clickies, forward and reverse... is there a hybrid?

for instance, forward clicky from off, so has momentary, and click for full on, but once on it acts like a reverse so you can switch modes without a full click?

is this possible?

I don't think this would work, but if someone were to conjure up a light with one, it would certainly appeal to me!

It may just be easier to make a digital switch, but if it were possible to have like a two-way mechanical clicky, that would be something I would buy. I love forward clickies for momentary on, and simplicity, but i'm also getting sick of bezel twisting for mode change. Reverse clicky makes mode change easier, but no momentary...

You don't have to have bezel twisting for mode change with a forward clicky. I guess it just depends on your personal preferences and how you usually use a light.

With a forward clicky (the way I use it) you decide on mode before the final click. I don't usually need to change modes after that. If I do then I have to click off first of course.

If you usually need to change modes after clicking the light on I can see the issue of course.

Yeah, thats how I change modes on forward clickies too, don't usually change modes once its on.

Maybe even have variations on a two way clicky, as in momentary is a memorized mode or max, while once its on, reverse allows mode selection. I guess you would need 2 sets of springs and 2 sets of contacts for this switch to work though

It is real...There were some batches of Solarforce S2(?) switches that were a combination of...later they were droped and the S2 was used for another switch....

Kaidomain was selling them.. got one but 2 months ago when I ordered a second one I got a regular switch...

The downside is that this switch excibited a flash-on...when you pressed for monetary on and then clicked for steady on, it would flash on the click...that makes controlling multimode drivers difficult...

Awesome! thanks for the heads up. I thought that if they did exist, there would be a slight flash when clicking through to 'on'. I would love to know how they work, I kinda picture a ballpoint pen clicky of some sort...
