Clip Position Question

I recently picked up a Nitecore D20 and it is a great little light. I do find myself reaching for it more and more as my EDC due to the pocket clip.

I prefer bezel down and really like how the Nitecore clip attaches securely at the very end of the body thereby placing 99% of the light in my pocket.

Granted I can see where this is not the universal preferred design as the light may have more tendency to push out of your pocket when you do alot of leg movement or sitting down. Plus the two AA design does make for a longer light.

I assume those lights that stick out farther are easier to grab quickly but my use of a torch is stricly conveneince and not job related. Plus I'm not a cargo pants wearer so restricted to the traditional L or R jeans pocket.

Even the reversible clips like on my E1B leave a lot of the light sticking out.

My question is can anyone suggest another good light that uses a similar positioning on their clips beside the Fenix slip on clip? My experience is the Fenix solution loosens within a couple weeks and becomes useless.

Thanks

Bob

What you describe is one of the reasons I really like my Proton Pro. The built-in clip extends to nearly the end of the light. And, it's open enough to work with thick fabrics, like jeans, and long enough for a secure grip. You can remove it with no tools, too.

I guess if the dammed manufacturers won't bother putting a decent clip on their lights you'll just have to take matters into your own hands. :D

You can read about it HERE

The Nitecore clip transformed that light into an AWESOME EDC!!

The Cree R2 WD combined with the special Olight reflector puts out a gorgeous white light. And the throw on this thing is just crazy for such a small light! It's simply amazing what a single cell LED flashlight can output nowadays. To think, I had this thing stuck in a drawer, never using it, simply because it didn't have a clip.

Thanks Geoff I'll check that one out.

You're right armed_forces nitecore has my preferred setup so think I will order an extra one of their clips and start playing around with my other lights. Thanks
