I really want to know which gives out a tightest hotspot. A collimator len with 8 degree or 10 degree or a 45 degree? Thank you for your help.

Edit: I've tried to find some beamshot with different collimator, but with no luck. I guess the lower the degree, the tighter the beam... I'll just buy the 8 degree. Thanks for looking.

hmm i may have something....
soem time ago \i took 1 meter beamshots of the similar DX/KD items but seems i never psoted them....

Being away from the home PC could you drop me a PM as a reminder?

the lower beam angle is the tighter hot spot focus. I don't think this is an absolute though.... there are +/- manufacturing tolerances to account for. So one manufacturers 8 degree might end up being a tighter beam than anothers 5.

well guys you are in luck! I had the beamshots ready for some time now, but i only prepared them these days (for a poster and a workshop)

so here it is with measurements too!

just a note I have 2 focusing sitiuations with the Derrelight OP reflector....one is the tihtest beam "befoc" and the other is the nicest/smoothest one (hotspot and 2 rings, happens when you unscrew the reflector some)....

Damn that's awesome! Just order two 8 degree collimators. I am planning to make the hotspot from my RC-G2 Q5 (1st gen. from shiningbeam) a bit strong. Hope it works better than the OP reflector.
