I bought one of the Costco Cyclops 15M candlepower lights a couple of years ago and I just replaced the battery. My problem is it doesn't seem to be as bright as before or maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

Both filaments in the bulb seem to work. When I try each switch I get light. Is there something else I should do or another bulb I should try?

To obtain the brightest light, only the top switch should be activated and only one filament should light. Have you measured Voltage at the bulb connector to ensure you have the full 12.6 Volts or so? Beyond that, there's not much else to go wrong. They are not really that bright so maybe as you say, you're used to brighter lights?

Bulbs do tend to dim a bit as they age. Even with halogen, as the filament burns, it deposits residue on the inside of the bulb that blocks light.

If your bulb is in good condition, maybe you should try replacing the wires with a slightly heavier gauge. The wires and connections from the factory are a bit small to handle the current that the bulb should be drawing on high.
