Couple of Mag questions

First off, why the need for so many to post Mag as M*g? Is it an inside joke? You don't like Mags? It's not "cool" to type Mag? Sure, it's not the best light, but I bet it's one of the highest selling lights in history. Why rag on them? Not that I really care, I'm not a Mag lover, although I do own a few, but I was just curious.

Secondly, I saw someone post recently, probably joking, that Maglite was coming out with a Cree series of lights. Any truth to this? I sure hope so, but I'm not going to believe it till I see it.

This has been discussed already (and probably many more times), but I still agree, just say maglite. It's not hard and it keeps communication going smoothly. Maglites may not be the best lights, but they make great hosts. These mods aren't hard either and after an hour or two of work, you have a great light. That's my two cents.

As for Mag Instrument inc. coming out with a cree based series of flashlights; they'll probably have the same problems they do with their LED models. They won't have sufficient thermal management (their biggest problem IMO). Now, however, if they do then that alone would make them something to behold.

A production Cree Maglite would be interesting provided:

1.) They use a decent bin

2.) There's some kind of heatsinking
