Wow, nice job on the pics. :eek:oo: I really like those up-close shots of the head/emitter.

Nice job on the review - I look forward to your runtimes. I wonder if they've fixed the efficiency problems in the low/med modes (and especially the 14500 anomaly).

I guess this is the new one didn't come out yet, right? Not the one you've reviewed: Jet I-Pro on your sigs. Letter I and number 1 are so similar.

It looks really good. I like the brass retainer ring too. I'm hopeful for Jetbeam.

Nice review and awesome pics! That macro of the emitter is amazing..:grin2:

Thanks Patriot36

I think brass bezel ring gives it a distinct look and rich feel. It appears that it will also protect the HAIII scratching, should the light fall directly on head over concrete.

Thanks KV, Abumustafa

Just added some closeup pictures

JETBeam has really done a very good job in machining of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro.

The Runtime test is performed on MAX Output. Alkaline runtime is relatively very less, but then again, Alkaline cannot deliver the high current as required by Jet 1 Pro...

Just for comparison purposes, here is a runtime chart for JETBeam CLE, notice the difference in total output

Again, that dreaded red plastic insert inside the switch does not give me a good feeling that it going to last as long as other well known torches. It has not changed since yesteryears.

Runtime on Mev's site are based on different cells. The one which I have used are Sanyo NiMH 2100 Cells (about 3 years old). I am doing another runtime test tomorrow with Enloop.

magic_elf, not sure if this is a new circuit, the light belongs to old generation (prior to IBS).

Thanks for the review, im actually taking a look at there torches, shopping for another light to add to my collection.

Can someone tell me if the next batch of these lights which will reportedly be available at BOG in approx. 8 days will be of the newer "Upgraded" type which addresses the medium/high runtime anomoly? This will be my deciding factor in purchasing this light...

Any knowledge would be appreciated!

Welcome to CPF Novanet :)

I am not sure about BOG. But JETBeam has stated that the new versions have better runtime than the light that is being reviewed here.

Just completed another runtime test with Sanyo NiMH 2100 Battery, Prior to the runtime test, battery was tested with West Mountain Radio CBA II the capacity as analyzed by CBA II is 1.9 AmpHrs (1900 mAH)

Here is the updated runtime chart.

With a better battery such as Sanyo 2700, the runtime will be considerably more.

Hi ViReN,

You undoubtedly have the talent in taking excellent photos as well as creating a fancy website. :goodjob:
