I barely used this awesome light and I just killed it..

I just took out the 18650 battery to use it on another light and I switched the polarity when I put it back..:ohgeez:
Not even a sound or a flash or a puff of smoke and its dead...

I checked the Lux5 Led and it still lights up..so I think I fried the board..

Any suggestions?? can I still get the board from the shoppe? should I use a different driver board? seoul LED swap?? or a cree??

Help!!!!!

That bites, that would be a fair amount for work to fix up, you can replace the electroncis, I would buy a dead light from you, if you want to sell it. Possibly, depending on price and what I can phyiscally pay.

I'll offer to repair the light if you are willing to send it back. I'll only charge for the price of the converter board.

I'd offer to sell you the converter board yourself, but, there is some tweeking that needs to be done to the converter board to help make Kilroy sit further out.

The tweek is not that hard. I grind flat the edge of the PCB under Kilroy. That allows the board to shimmy a little when it's dropped in. I then offset the board towards the flat as much as the screw will allow it to be offcenter. This pushes Kilroy out a bit farther.

If you are willing to do the shimmy shimmy mod I can send you the converter board.

Thank you very much Wayne for the Awesome offer..
Ill take you up on that....
I also sent you an email...

Thanks,

I hope this doesn't snowball... I can't keep track of stuff for more than 5 minutes. Must be age related thing. :D

Shoot me an email or send an enquiry through the shoppe. I'd prefer to have the paper trail via email. I don't monitor PM that much.

I only check into CPF once or twice daily for abt 5 minutes.

I am stunned Wayne. When I bought My HD 45 and complained to you about what I felty was a very useless ugly green light that it emitted, my complaints went unanswered and you would not take the ligh back. I finally asked you if you would replace this ugly green light emitting LED with a 5W WWOT and I would pay for the parts and your labor to do it. You and/or your wife responded in no uncertin terms (and I have still have the e-mails to prove it) that you were "to busy."

Since then, I have made my opinion clear that the shoppe has forgotten about sevice to its loyal customers. As a result, I have incurred the wrath of the Shoppe groupies. Now it appears that if someone fries their HD45 board you volunteer to fix it for only the price of the Board. As Shannow correctly points out "How bout that for service !" It was not always like that, at least when you were dealing with me.

Either you suddenly have a lot more time or you now realize that you need to make time to take care of your customers. Whatever the reason, the service you provided cqbdude was first rate and I am sure you now have a loyal customer in him. Keep it up and who knows I may begin purchasing items from the shoppe again.

Must buy HDs and fry it...or not. Wayne's a good guy but rather busy it would no tsurprise me at all if he has recently had mre time on his hands, likewise a fryed board is quite a bit more worthless than a green light, so getting a new board would definately be something that NEEDs to be replaced.

There's a world of difference between a non-functioning light and one that has a tint that you dont like.
