I thought you were asking about whether one could upgrade the old TL-3 LED with a Cree rather and not the Task-Light 3AA LED. There is a few other Stremlight lights using the C4 LED.
When people use the "TL-3" abbreviation here, it is almost always about the 9v xenon TL-3 as it is still a great light, which can be made even better with 2x17500 as I have one.
