Rayman .... building your first aspheric Mag ???
I have been messing about with them as well

To save you from searching the forums, here are a few things I found out.
You do not need a reflector if you are using a aspheric lens, this is what
happens if you do
This photo was a little experiment I tried with a Novatac which has a Seoul
emitter and OP reflector. Notice the side spill .... the wavy light rings, not
very nice.
The photo does not show the projected emitter very well either, but I could
not get an image of the die, just a hotspot with the two wires I mentioned
earlier.
Heres a photo of a Cree Q5 on a Mag
The projected image is nice a defined, the photo does not show it but the
die is clearly visible.
The key to getting a nice square projection, is to get the aspheric lens
in focus. The Mag itself does give you some degree of focusing by turning
the head but sometimes this may not be enough. So this may mean
moving the emitter itself, either further back into the Mag or further
forward towards the lens. You can do this easily with a Mag dropin.
Heres another aspheric Mag I have been working on
