I'm using a 1499 in another host with 2x IMR 18350; just not bright enough for me.

Thanks for all the input.

A couple questions FM. The first 4 bi pin bulbs you listed. What base pin configuration are they? And the axial 14.4 3A g4 bulb. Which bulb is that? I can't find any info online but at 43w it looks good

I need some help on selecting the right bulb, I just got a FM 1000 lumen E-fire host, what bulbs would work or work best in this with 2 IMR 16430 set up?

If Fivemega made it, and marketed it as 1000 lumen, chances are he intended you to use the Fm1794 bulb.
If you want longer runtime, than you could use the CL1499 bulb.

His hosts are often also sized to take 18mm batteries, you you could use slightly bigger 18350 batteries to get more runtime.
Actually, you need to check the specs on the 16430 cells you wish to use as the current draw from the 1794 might be too much stress on them.
In which case, you would want to go with the 1499.

thank you for the information.

Do you know if this bulb below will work the same as the CL1499 or FM1794 since the voltage and current looks similar?

Bi-pin WA01274-U (7.2V, 2.77A)

The ONLY current production bulb that will fit the E2 Fire with a stock SureFire head is the 1499; the current production 1794 that FM sells WILL NOT fit (see post #61 in the E2 Fire thread).

Additionally, the 1274 is a G4 bulb; the pin spacing is wider than the 1499 and 1794, as well as the bulb itself being larger.

could those potted cl1499 be extracted from their pots and used in their original, bi-pin entity?

Mr.Mega, do you have flashpoint data for the 6.6v and 4v Axial bulbs ?

I'm wondering what to calibrate my PH-D1 Mag to for these bulbs.

Re 6.6 v:
Do you know what the voltage of those eneloops sags to under that load?
I've had it up to 8v with the regulator so far. I wish I could test it further but my sample is semi-defective.

Re 4v: I was running this one off four Nimh D-cells.
At 1.25 that's 5v, but really I don't recall if I measured the loaded voltage.

I think I went an high as 4.8 v with the regulator.

Would any of the potted bulbs listed work well in a maglite? I was looking for rop alternatives to experiment with and I just wondered if anyone had tried any of them.

Right now I use 2 26650 liCo with the 3854 hi, but I can use whatever cells would work.

I don't see why they wouldn't work with the propert reflector and recommended power sources. Keep in mind the potted bulbs listed are all in the power range of the rop lo bulb. There may be more data for each bulb in the destructive bulb tests sticky thread

Consider getting a Bi-pin adapter slug. Then you can play around with more kinds of bulbs.

Fivemega makes one for the mag charger which he claims works with the normal mags.
