Ok, I have bought a learning interactive pc style console for my little son. It does not come with a DC power supply. The specification said it required a 9V 350mA DC power supply. I have a 9V 1000mA DC supply at home for the electronic organ. Can I use this on the console? Does the 1000mA rating signified it can give 1A max or is this a constant power that flow out from it and certainly will :poof: the console?

Thanks.

The 1000mA should be fine, the unregulated plug packs rely on the current draw to pull the voltage down so the voltage may be a bit higher than 9Volts if the plug pack is regulated definitely no problems. Don't forget to check the plug polarity. An appliance will only draw the current it requires.

ya what he said, untill the item pulls more acutual current, it wont be a problem, like if you shorted something out or something.

Norm and VidPro, thank you. I have always wanted to ask that question and there was no need until now. I will give it a go tonight.
