whats the furthest anyone has taken a standard non-modified sf torch underwater and it has worked? whats the record here guys?:sold:

no SF torch, but my fenix l2d-ce went about 3 feet deep, but only for a few seconds, as i accidentally dropped it.

I took a Ti McLux about 90 feet down on a dive off Kauai. :) No problems during or after. Sort of did it on a lark, you really need more lumens down there, especially after dark...:eek:oo:

I took a D3 to around 70 feet and it functioned flawlessly. it has 2 o rings in the tail and all joints had a nyogel treatment before.

You say it seeped in through the piston? (How can you be sure?) I would say that's not normal at all as long as correct o-rings were in place- lubed and in good condition. But if the o-rings were dry or cracked that could cause a problem.

I've had my PD in the water dozens of times and never had a drop get in.

My water main burst the other day. I had the KL1/E2e/E2D TC at that time and water was everywhere, I had to put the light in an ackward location as to light the area in whihc I had to fix the piping. I would say that the light was subjected to water for about 30 minutes then battery ran out, changed it and another hour + until I managed to put a blank off. Got the mains fixed and the light was water resistant as advertised.

My E2E went through the washer :O Forgot to take it out, Not a spec of moisture after tho!
Nuker-

I know of a guy who regularly dives with his SF L5. I don't know what depth though but the light never seemed to have any problems.

fairly certain there was water drops all on the inside of the body and on the piston. o-rings were well lubed and seems in good condition.
