drop in for maglite 3d

can anyone sugest a good maglite 3d drop in led mod, best bang for the buck,
i have heard the maglite branded ones dimm after about 10 mins due to heat build up. something in a q5, r2, or ssc would be nice. p7 would be awesome:devil:

I have an Electrolumens 3 LED drop in in my 3D and I think it is fantastic. I think the Electrolumens product is a quality product worth the money. It transforms the stock 3D Mag.

I also have a Malkoff single LED drop in in my 2D. It is a very good utility light with a long runtime. It is heatsinked too. Much brighter than the Terralux or Mag LED dropin.

I can also second the Malkoff drop-in. I guess it could be considered expensive (because it is), however, it may be truly the best bang for the buck because of the absolute perfect engineering and construction.

I have built many a LED light and really cannot get any of my lights to equal what Gene has done with his. I believe his electronics are of very high quality and allow the single LED to be the brightest it can be. I believe he has his electronics custom made for him.....and only him.

There are lower cost options, but do a search and you will find that really there is nobody out there who has a complaint about Gene's drop-ins. Seriously, they are very good.
