DSD Charger - anomalies...

Hi all,

I've got 2 DSD 18650 chargers, they both work - my protected batteries always come off at 4.19v. The leds don't work - one charger just stays red the whole time, the other stays green the whole time. This isn't so much of a problem as I check the voltage with DMM everynow and again just to check everything is OK.

So what's the best way of checking a charger is working properly. I've stuck a DMM across the terminals whilst plugged in - one charger registers 5.5v the other is showing 8v - does this sound normal? Will the 8volts charge quicker? Is there another way of checking? Maybe check the amps..... would that prove anything? Maybe the volts fluctuate during the charge?

On the subject of the red led never turning to green, might this be because the battery's protection circuit cuts in before the charger 'thinks' the battery is charged.... or does it not work like that?

Thanks for your help
