After having almost completely sold out of Eneloop cells, **** Smith Electronics now have their own house brand LSD NiMH cells - at least in New Zealand, haven't seen them on the Aus web site. AA and AAA.

The pic shows a white cap, but a more rounded button and a more prominent neck than Eneloop. "They are ready to use right out of the packet and will retain approximately 80% of their charge over 12 months while not in use." Basic specs:

Nominal capacity: 2000mAh (AA), 800mAh (AAA)
Minimum capacity: 1950mAh (AA), 750mAh (AAA)
Standard charge: 195mA x 16hours (AA), 75mA x 16hours (AAA)
Rapid charge: 975mA x 2.4hours (AA), 375mA x 2.4hours (AAA)
Trickle charge: 59~97mA (AA), 23~37mA (AAA)
Cycle life: 500 cycles

Any ideas what brand they really are?

They are not sold out, they simply don't wish to stock any. The rate DSE supplying crap goods is a sad sign. Jaycar isn't any better with their USB toys.

Good news is, Duracells LSD and Sony LSD are in stock in local supermarkets at not so good news price. :sigh:

Sorry, I meant in NZ, where three of the four options (4 x AA, 2 x AA, and 2 x AAA) are listed as "Clearance product, stock is limited." I bought the whole AA stock of two branches, so those two at least are definitely sold out. :sigh: The branches that the web site shows still stocking them may just have miscounted - they seem to do that.

For some reason 4 x AAA is not listed as clearance.
