Hey all I'm ney here. I've read quite some posts here but I have a specific question which has to be addressed :p.
I need a front light for my bike. I am in the UK and all those fancy brands you have in the US are overpriced here. I don't think there are any good UK manufacturers left and torches here are expensive mayne. Anyway I prefer a torch because when I am not riding I can use if for other things as well e.g. camping (although so far I've never camped but you never know...). Anyway here I go:

I need a front light. I need it so that other drivers can spot me more than me to see the road cause da road is well lit. I could use some lighting in some parts of my short jorney home. I also don't travel at dark that often.

The eagletac uses RC123 or 18650 batteries. This means that I need to buy a set of rechargable batteries and a charger which is about 30 pounds in total. The torch itself is 43 pounds so that is about 70 pounds. That's a lot for something which you don't need badly. I will need this to be one hell of a good torch and I will need those batteries to be the future of batteries (which I don't think they are since they are too big). I mean that I will need this thing to last a lot of time and not find myself in a position that the batteries are out of production or that I'll be using them only for my torch.

Here is a good place to ask whether 18650 is better than 2xAA. I mean I am an engineer but it depends on the torch actually and the operating current. 18650 should be more powerful because it delivers 3.7 as opposed to the 3V delivered by the 2xAA.

Anyway any other suggestions are welcome. Love well made and simple stuff which generally go together. As I said it is very expensive for me and I already bought a $1400 bike :D :p but I would spend that kind of money for something well made and durable. Also could you recomend other torches as well. I don't know what's a good bike torch but would love to hear suggestions. And don't forget I'm from the UK so local brands would be prefered since they are cheaper (importing apparently increases the price a lot, almost double).

I use the t100c2 as a bike light and its great. With an 18650 it's rated 60 lumens for 20 hrs. I bought my flashlight and bike mount from FlashCrazy on here, great service . I think its a good investment into switching over to 18650 batteries since they hold so much charge. All you really need is 2 batteries, 1 to use and 1 to keep as a spare.

Here's a picture of the bike mount I use, its very sturdy and i can pop in the flashlight without taking off any straps. It's actually upside down, the part with the screw goes on the handle bars.
