Anybody know the current draw for the different settings on the EOS and Apex headlamps?
The reason I ask is becuase I modded both with SSC P4's and Khatod 17 (eos) and 20 (apex) reflectors and am in a quandry.
With the EOS on high beam, and the Apex on Low beam, there is no appreciable difference in output or beam quality. With the Apex on High, it obviously has a much brighter beam.

So I'm trying to figure out approx. regulated runtimes for the EOS on high with 3xAAA batteries vs. the Apex on Low with 4XAA batteries. No sure the extra weight and complexity of the Apex is needed for my uses (night trail running).

BTW - both these mods were super simple and definitely worth it. Much more useable beam and brighter to boot!

Thanks
Ron

Remember that the Apex was designed with a Lux III (spec 700mA) in mind versus the EOS with a Lux I (350 mA), chances are that the Apex is driving the SSC twice as hard as the EOS is!

Anyone tried the new PT Apex Pro? Seems like a great idea to move from that bulky 4AA battery pack to a smaller and lighter 2 X CR123 pack.

I have the Pro version that I swapped a Seoul and IMS 20mm into. The output after was jaw-dropping! One of the best mods I have done yet...sometime this week I am going to do a detailed review with some "real-world beamshots". I can tell you this bit of info first....before modding I would get ~60 lumens out the front on high, now with the USVOI emitter I am seeing 130+ out the front :twothumbs.....with a modest low of ~55 lumens.
