Ex rated surefires etc

Anyone know if any of the surefire led lights pr any other good quality led lights are Ex rated, will be used for inspecting inside petrol/diesel/kerosene tankers and have to be Ex certified so the tankers dont go

Dont EX-rated lights need some kind of mechanical valve/venting system to avoid trapping gas inside? If thats the case the 6/9P, M2/3, C2/3 are out, they are sealed as tight as a lead pipe bomb.

I don't think I've seen any SF rated like that. Check out Pelican, Underwater Kinetics, and Streamlight.

Among other issues, I think the tailcaps would need a complete redesign. I have a couple of Princeton Tec lights that qualify.

Ex isn't SureFire's market. There are several very well experienced companies catering for that market as already mentioned.

Don't know if it applies to your "Ex" situation, but you might like to check out the BrightGuy website. On the Advanced Search page, there is a category for different safety ratings. In addition to the great names already mentioned, there are several offerings from Koehler/Bright Star. Should be fairly simple to compare/contrast the different lights/brands.
