Just received the current issue of Modern Machine Shop, which contains some newer techniques for machining Ti. The development work was done by researchers at the Boeing Research and Technology group in St. Louis.

Even if you never plan to make a wing strut for a commercial airliner, it's still a good read:D

I learned by trial/error that I can go at 500mm/min in small depths vs 100mm/min for deeper cuts, at the end the work is finished faster and the CNC mill chatters a lot less.

Good reading Barry. Of course, I am not yet dealing with Ti. All of my pending projects are with Al, but I do hope to "play" with Ti some time this year ;)
