Today I noticed a dark (brown) spot in the center of the hotspot on my Fenix LD10. I can see it clearly when I throw the beam on a white wall from a distance of 1-2 meters. Do I got a defective LED?

I will come back a little with a beamshot. It´s to bright outside right now. But I compared it with my LD20 and there is a significant difference between them. I also noticed that the beam on the LD10 is more purple than my LD20 also... :mecry:

I have a tint differences as well between mu LD10/20, its just part of the LED lottery. I think you have to ask yourself did you buy the torch to look at white walls:)

I love both of mine.

I also love them both too. And I´m not planning to light up white walls, but if the led is defective I would like to replace it. Fenix are great lights! :)

It's a donut.

Sometimes it can be eliminated by adjusting the led closer to or farther away from the particular refractory device, ie optic or reflector. Sometimes you just can't find the right focal point and you're stuck with it. It is very rare that the donut is due to a defective LED.

I just checked my LD10 absolutely no dark patch just a darkish ring from the reflector but the spot is pure white throughout until the ring, any burn marks on the emitter? been running it on high ? overheated? burnt some of the phosphorus coating?... what you could try is setting it to low mode and wear some dark sun glasses and have a look directly into it see if there are some dead cells/patches in the center (i'm betting there is)

Tried to take a picture but it is difficult to make the issue visible in the picture. It´s the same on all modes (low, mid, high and turbo). Can´t see that there are anything wrong with the led, lens or reflector (I compared it with my LD20). Can anybody tell me how to disassemble, or adjust the led inside the head? I can´t figure out how it´s screwed together...

Thank you!

Not without voiding the warranty you wont.

you're not able to take a picture of the beam or emitter?

Picture of the beam. The led its self looks perfect compared to my LD20. Also the beam on my LD20 looks soo much better than the LD10. Defective led or not, I have decided to return to where I bought it and get a replacement.
