It Uses a 1-watt R-binned Luxeon LED and is rated at 30 lumens.

How hard does LOP SE need to drive a 1-watt R-binned Luxeon to produce 30 claimed lumens?

I am wondering if upgraded to Cree, about how bright will it be?

Thanks.

It should be similar to the LOD-CE.
16 lumens
7 lumens
46 lumens

unknownVT has a review of the L0D-CE with beamshot comparisons to a L0P-SE here:

The Lux 1 is spec. at 350 mA for 42 lumens. After giving up 1/3 of the light to optical losses you get about 30 lumens, I think Fenix is driving their 1 watt lights at that level.

The Cree XRE is odd shaped & needs a special reflector. I think the SSC-P4 might be better for an emitter swap.

If you like soft beam light. You might find some post on SSC emitter. I have my L0P mod with SSC. Light is very smooth for walk.

Actually I was going to mod my ARC AA, and need a multi-level driver, so I was thinking to use the fenix LOP SE driver. Only a Cree will work in the ARC AA at this time, and yes it will be very floody :)

I only want to use NIMH batteries so at 1.2 volts my choices for drivers are limited....

Now I order LF2 for my use because my L0P have PWM. I don't like PWM in low levels.
