Finally ordered the HF 8x12 from the HF store !!!

As you might recall from an older post of mine, HF now allows customers to special order the 8x12 lathe directly to the store. They manager was very nice and was able to honor the $439.99 special price from back in Feb of this year, so my total with tax was like $470-80 out the door. It should be here in about 15 days or so, and my neighbor and I will pick it up on his Suburban

As I noted earlier I will be converting this machine to variable speed, and I will take the opportunity to put a decent motor in it as well (a "real" 1/2 to 1HP engine is what I am looking for at the moment). I already got the speed controller (KBMM-225D Solid State 115V/230V dual voltage unit), so I will be having tons of fun getting this to "fit" in the 8x12 once it arrives

I thin k you are getting spoiled, Will. Isn't that just $40 more than they are asking for the 7x10? Quite a steal (AGAIN!)

Nice looking machine. good luck with it.

make sure you get a splash guard and bottom tray - keeps the mess down, or at least confined to a smaller area.
